Our Company History

CUB Enterprises was started in May 2009, originally under the name of Ballerz Inc., which was focused on the extreme sports market and the paintball industry.

During our operation as Ballerz, Inc. we launched a clothing line “Ballerz Revolution” and began to launch “Ballerz Nutrition”, focused on the nutrition needs of extreme sports players. Ballerz was also in the planning stages of an extreme sports related facility, which remains in the companies plans for the future.

When the company was faced with a transition in early 2010 with the departure of two of the executives, the CEO Christopher Clai took majority control of the firm, and began a series of acquisitions to consolidate other business enterprises under his direction. The company then brought on current Vice-President, Ryan Fowler and changed its name to Clai Unified Business Enterprises, or CUB Enterprises for short.

The company now has three active brands, and continues to expand in new markets, with plans to develop SaaS applications, reignite old brands, and build its footprint in online media.

FringeUSA Concept Logo

FringeUSA, an alternative clothing e-retailer, was acquired by CUB Enterprises  from Contiga Broadcasting Corporation International. It was only live for a few months before going back to concept before acquisition. Launch plan is TBD.

Information Technology

One of the first acquisitions of CUB Enterprises was Contiga Networks Systems, Inc. CNS was a full-service IT firm which helped consumers and businesses alike.

CNS was started in 1999 as Central Florida Main Network, Inc. and has gone through several acquisitions during that time. In April 2011, CUB retired the CNS brand, but plans to continue providing full-service IT solutions in the future under a new name.

The business consulting division maintains the current customer base of CNS, along with offering PCI compliancy, VoIP phone systems, SSL Certificates, and Web Design that was prior offered under the CNS brand.

Internet Broadcasting

One of the largest acquisitions in the history of CUB Enterprises was the acquisition of the brands of Contiga Broadcasting Corporation International (CBCI) in July 2009. CBCI was started in 2003 with its first station, and followed several strong principles which encouraged much of the divisions growth and popularity over the years.

CBCI developed a content delivery network built to handle the traffic of the broadcasting operations, maintaining no higher than a 55 ms latency worldwide with about 400 Mbps of throughput accessible at anytime from its central operations located in Houston, TX.

Killer Rock Radio Logo

Killer Rock Radio, one of the many brands, was the first one started in 2003 and quickly grew to become one of the internet’s largest rock radio stations, serving nearly 5 million listeners a month at its peak in 2007.

KRR made a mark in the radio industry both online and offline by providing limited advertising, avoiding payola agreements, and having some of the most diverse rock programming ever heard. A prominent broadcasting company tried acquiring the station in 2006 for $2.3 million dollars, but failed when the board of directors denied the offer and subsequent offers.

KRR had content agreements with AOL and Windows Media, SingingFish, and other providers off and on through its history. The station was taken offline in February 2010 due to financial complexities in relation to royalties.

Orlando Radio One Logo

Orlando Radio One was a concept station started in late 2009 and was the first concept of “localized” internet broadcasting comprised by the division and focused on pop, electronic and hip-hop that was popular in the area. The station in a matter of weeks grabbed about 10,000 local listeners per month and garnered advertiser interest in just 7 weeks of operation.

Globe Shocker started in 2005 was the first to provide streaming music videos in 720×480 format at up to 1500 kbps quality, and our CDN ensure that videos played almost immediately when you visited them.

It was an immediate hit with viewers and content networks. Globe Shocker was quickly put into agreements with AOL, WindowsMedia, and SingingFish for indexing of content and direct distribution.

Globe Shocker was discontinued in 2009 as the internet radio market was growing faster and growing trouble with labels made it difficult to maintain an independent music video site.
